MAO Shengyong, professor, doctoral supervisor, and dean of the College of Animal Science and Technology at Nanjing Agricultural University. He is currently the vice chairman of the Animal Nutrition Branch of the Chinese Veterinary Medical Association and the president of the Jiangsu Feed Industry Association. For a long time, I have been engaged in research on ruminant nutrition and microbiology, focusing on the regulatory mechanisms of rumen metabolism and methane reduction technologies. The system reveals the key role of rumen microorganisms in acidosis, constructs a gene sequence library of rumen methanogens in Jinnan cattle, and proposes regulatory strategies for methanogenic bacterial communities. He/She has presided over more than 30 scientific research projects including the National Natural Science Foundation of China and published more than 100 papers in journals such as Genome Biology and Microbiome. He/She has won two second prizes of the Natural Science Award of the Ministry of Education and one national Teaching Achievement Award, and has been included in Elsevier's list of highly Cited Chinese researchers. Served as the deputy editor of "Microbiome", and taught 12 undergraduate and postgraduate courses including "Ruminant Nutrition".
