Liu Yongbin, a professor and doctoral supervisor, is the Deputy Party Secretary and President of Inner Mongolia Agricultural University. He also serves as the Chief Scientist of the National Mutton Sheep Industry Technology System, playing a key role in advancing China’s meat sheep industry. His research focuses on developing sheep germplasm resources and improving the genetic traits of meat sheep. He led the breeding of China’s first specialized meat sheep breed, the "Bamei Mutton Sheep," and contributed to the development of other notable breeds, including "Huameng Sheep," "Huanghuai Sheep," and "Dumeng Sheep". Dr. Liu’s achievements earned him several prestigious awards, including the National Science and Technology Progress Award (Second Prize) and the Inner Mongolia Science and Technology Progress Award (First Prize). He has been selected for national talent initiatives, such as the National "Ten Thousand Talents Program" for Leading Talents in Scientific and Technological Innovation. Additionally, he has been recognized as a National Outstanding Professional and honored as a "Shennong Leading Talent" by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. To date, Dr. Liu has published over 100 academic papers, secured more than 20 invention patents, and authored five scientific monographs.
